There’s been too much on my schedule this past week. I’ve been on full throttle since Thursday and I still feel lagged.
So what have I been doing?

I celebrated the first year anniversary of Högkvarteret, my favourite feminist queer club in Stockholm. I decided to let my gold glittery hotpants feel a bit of clubbing air. I didn’t get a good photo of the tights back seams, they have little bows that run along the leg. I’m also a bit sceptic about flaunting my junk in the trunk in the blog and all.

Magnhild is officially opened as from this past Saturday. Unfortunately the shipment that was meant to arrive for the grand opening didn’t arrive due to various issues. Some new customers that weren’t there for the VIP opening came and seemed happy with it all but the ones who did come on the VIP opening were of course a bit disappointed. Oh well, not much one can do about the unfortunate circumstances, right? The package will come sooner or later anyway.

Later in the evening on the same day as the Magnhild opening I went to one of my absolute favourite clubs: Syntax Error. It’s a club arranged by nerds, for nerds. Gaming nerds are in majority but the geekdoms vary widely. This is the only place I have ever been to where I can ask the DJ to play the Bubble Bobble theme. This is also the only club where I’ve ever felt completely at home from the very first second.

And the only place where I can recieve and wear a fake moustache to become the envy of all men as well as the love object of all the women. SCORE.
Sunday and Monday was spent out at my cellar storage, cleaning and cleansing and throwing away utter crap. Sunday took around 12 hours, Monday took 3 hours. When we started the boxes and clutter covered the whole storage from floor to ceiling. After we were done I could do a Broadway show in there. I celebrated this achievement with treating myself to iskender kebab – probably the finest in the whole of Stockholm because I’ve never tasted anyone as good as this one.
So I went camping. YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT. I went to Sweden Social Web Camp, an unconference that was held on an island in the southern Swedish archipelago with other nerds in social media (because that’s what I work with, social media). Since the few hostel rooms on the island got booked up faster than I could say ”I HATE TENTS” I had no other choice but to camp.
Some of my co-workers wondered: ”Will you go camping in your pretty dresses?” Of course not. Then they wondered: ”Will there be pics of this?” Of course, we all know that it didn’t happen if there are no pics. Here you go!
From Stockholm we went by bus for six hours. And then we had to go by boat to the little island where the camp was being held. I practically LIVED in my Metamorphose hoodie the whole weekend. As you can see I tightly pulled it to my head because the winds are always cold over sea even though the temperature was around 20 degrees.
Me and my tent buddy Mathias who found me while crowdsourcing campers on Twitter. I am wearing a TRON tee from threadless (print details here since my badge is blocking it) that I got as a birthday present. Apparently the print glows in the dark but I had too much fun to see if it worked. The rest of the outfit is Metamorphose hoodie, H&M high waist button up skirt and handbag from Swimmer.
On the second day of camping, aka session ping pong day, I wore a comfier cotton dress with tulle skirt from Monki with a lace bedjacket from Beyond Retro. It was hot and a lot of the sessions were held under a tree or by a rock in the grass so this was a perfect combination for rolling around on the ground. Bag is from Swimmer and sunglasses are from H&M.
What about the shoes, Maria? Yes, what about shoes when I go camping for a few days and I do not know what the weather will be like? Rubber boots. There is no other option. I can go through water puddles, splash through mud and walk across grassy meadows. When I get home I just hose the dirt off. My biker-wannabe rubber boots were an emergency purchase at Skopunkten because my regular rubber boot darlings were stuck in an inaccessible basement storage. I wore colourful tights all weekend since they keep the ticks away from the legs. I don’t want TBE or borrelia, then I do my best to not get ticks so I always wear tights.

I met a lot of different people on the camp while listening to even more interesting sessions. Among them I met my old friend Kim who I arranged japanese pop culture events with six years ago. Such a small world! He gave me this awesome pin. Isn’t it the best pin?

My co-workers Ronnie and Helena in the grass before another session. Just like me they can not live without their iPhones.

I held an idea session for 20 min about how my job can work with their sounds online. This was part of my enthusiastic crowd.
I had an awesome time and even though Mathias was the best tent buddy I could have ever wished for there is nothing better than coming home, taking a hot shower and crawling in to my own bed.
Here’s a time lapse video of the session area where we hung out the whole weekend, not showing the tenting area. 40 hours in 7 minutes, so awesome!

I was invited to a jewelry sale arranged by Mymble’s Daughters. It was very intimate and nice with cupcakes, coffee, tea and water, thank god. The heat today was mushy and unbearable.
Alice and Ariane found themselves a few nice items and I went home with two pendant necklaces: one with the evil queen from Snow White (look at that tiny apple!) and the other with a Tenniel illustration of Alice about to drink from the bottle (look at that tiny key and that tiny tiny cameo, oh my god!).
Finally! After a few months of preparations, blood, sweat and tears I am happy to say that you have an important date – TokyoStop Magnhild is opening. We had a VIP opening a few weeks ago and it was fab but now we’re officially opening up the lolita department of TokyoStop. Come and mingle with us and shop lolita clothing, accessories and goods directly imported from Japan. I just put in an order this morning for more stuff so hopefully that will arrive just in time for the opening.
Keep your fingers crossed for that!
